Self Help is a simple way for church members to help their Uniting Church organisation to fulfil its mission.
Self Help is made of two parts:
Self Help enables church members and friends to provide direct, ongoing financial support to their chosen Uniting Church organisation by foregoing interest on a Self Help Investment and redirecting this benefit to the organisation’s Self Help Scheme.
Funds in a Self Help Investment remain accessible to the investor, while the foregone interest provides an ongoing source of income directly to the Uniting Church organisation’s Self Help Scheme. This income can be used to either service a loan or as additional income for any mission purpose the church organisation deems appropriate.
A Self Help Investment is an at call investment with a difference. The investment enables supporters to forego interest on their investment and redirect this benefit to the Self Help Scheme of their choice. As funds are at call, Self Help investors are able to manage their support of the church alongside their other financial needs.
As every investment with Uniting Financial Services benefits The Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of NSW and the ACT, Self Help Investments also support all church organisations of the Synod.
